face nose reshaping (rhinoplasty)

When performing a rhinoplasty, it is important that the proposed changes must 'fit the face'. It should provide both individuality and character to one's appearance. The beauty of the operation rests in the availability to achieve long-lasting enhancement of appearance and functional improvement in a subtle, yet meaningful manner. The projection of the chin should also be in harmony with the projection of the nose. If the chin is small or 'set back', then placement of a soft anatomical implant through an incision below the chin can sometimes alone be adequate to 'reduce' the apparent nasal projection.

Liposuction to the area below the jawline and front of the neck can make the chin and jaw appear 'stronger' and more sculpted. Structural fat grafting to enhance the lips, cheeks and perioral area can also help restore facial harmony. Nasal airway obstruction is a common problem in rhinoplasty patients due to a deviated septum or overgrowth in the turbinates (which warm and humidify the air before it enters the lungs). These can be corrected to make breathing easier.
